CIPA - Child Internet Protection Act
What is CIPA?
The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) is a federal law enacted by the United States Congress to protect children from inappropriate online content. To qualify for federal funds under the E-Rate program (the Universal Service Program, providing eligible schools with affordable access to modern telecommmunications), CIPA compliance is required. In addition to supporting CIPA, True Literacy enables compliance with regulatory programs throughout the world. Let True Literacy help you achieve CIPA compliance.
CIPA has the following requirements for schools, libraries and other educational organizations:
- Block or filter Internet access to content that is obscene, pornographic, or harmful to minors.
- Adopt and enforce a policy to monitor the online activities of minors.
Meet and exceed CIPA and E-Rate requirements now and into the future.
